Thomas Parolil Varghese

Thomas Parolil Varghese, lovingly known by his loved ones as "Achankunju," passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Warner Robins, GA, at the age of 78. He was born on March 6, 1947, in Kozhencherry, Kerala, India, to the late Mr. Phillipose Varghese and the late Mrs. Annamma Varghese. He was the second oldest of five children. His family home was known as the Parolil house in Ettichuvadu, Ranny. He was originally a member of the Nazareth Marthoma Church.
After completing high school, Thomas proudly served in the Indian Army for three years and later worked as a water operator for the Water Department in Uttar Pradesh until his immigration to Philadelphia, PA, in 1993. Thereafter, he worked for Cardone Industries for 19 years, eventually making his way to his final home in Warner Robins, GA.
Thomas was a devoted man of God whose faith quietly guided every step of his life. He was known for a kindness that asked for nothing in return and a generosity that reached countless lives. With a compassionate heart and unwavering faith, he gave freely of his time, his resources, and himself, touching others in ways both seen and unseen. He found deep joy in prayer and in lifting his voice through worship songs. As a faithful member of the Mar Thoma Church for many years, he built lasting bonds within the Philadelphia and Atlanta congregations, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and grace.
He is survived by his beloved spouse and soulmate, Mrs. Kunjoojamma Thomas, to whom he was married for 49 years. He is also survived by his son Sherin Thomas, daughters Shino Thomas and Shikha Achankunju; his daughter-in-law, Lissa Thomas; his sons-in-law, Benny Abraham and Ajino Achankunju; and his eight grandchildren, Ezrah Thomas, Ivana Thomas, Isabelle Thomas, Anaya Abraham, Aiden Abraham, Abigail Abraham, Emma Achankunju, and Ezmée Achankunju whom he all adored deeply and every moment spent with them was precious to him. He is also survived by his brother Parolil Varughese, sister Rachel Samuel. He was preceded in death by his eldest sister, Mariamma Thomas (2015) and brother P. V. Abraham (1977).
His legacy will endure through the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the kindness he left behind. His relationship with the Lord gives us peace, knowing that he is now in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A service for Thomas will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 8:30am until 12:20pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory, with a graveside service immediately following at 12:30pm at Perry Memorial Gardens. Following graveside, the family requests everyone to join them for lunch at Harvest Church at 3322 Highway 41 North, Byron, Ga 31008.
