NORTH BROOKFIELD – Thomas L. White, Jr, 91, of Paxton, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, at his daughter’s home in North Brookfield. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Tom was born in Cambridge, the son of Anne Lucille and Thomas L. White Sr. He was a carpenter and the owner of White’s Construction Company.
During the course of his long life, Tom was beloved by many. He had an easy laugh, twinkling blue eyes, and a generous heart. As a young man, he served in the Navy and eventually earned his degree in carpentry from the Wentworth Institute of Technology. Later on, and to the great surprise of his family, he became an avid country line dancer and even performed during First Night celebrations in Worcester. He also loved basketball, fishing and playing card games with friends. To Tom, his poker pals and Dance Ranch buddies were like a second family.
Tom was the last of his generation, having been preceded in death by siblings Joan Luecht, Patricia Broderick, Hal White, Janice Heap, and Philip White, along with his first wife Sybil Dalton. Tom is survived by his second wife Diane White and his four daughters – Janine Hartwell, Allison White, Robin Sutherland & her husband Michael Sutherland, and Kelli White & her husband Scott Brenner. He is also survived by grandchildren Brenna Taylor, Colin Cleary, Chance Hartwell, Jake Hartwell, and Sigrid Ruth Brenner, as well as great-grandchildren Pierce Taylor, Briella Hartwell, Carter Hartwell, and Alexander Hartwell. He is also leaving behind a large extended family, including several loved nieces and nephews and his Culpepper’s family.
Visitation hours are scheduled between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm with a Memorial Service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 13th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street in Holden, MA. All are welcome.
