Thomas E. Wondergem

Thomas Edward Wondergem, 89, of Marinette, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born in Marinette on September 10, 1935, the son of Peter and Charlotte (Evans) Wondergem.
Tom grew up in Marinette, where he graduated from Marinette High School. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, and following his time in the service, he worked as a welder at Ansul for many years.
A true outdoorsman, Tom had a deep love for nature and was an avid bear hunter. He was also a member of the Northeast Wisconsin Cat Coyote and Bear Club, where he formed lifelong friendships with fellow enthusiasts. His passion for the outdoors was matched only by his devotion to his family.
Tom married Darlene Sommers in Marinette on April 4, 1959, sharing 65 years of marriage. Together, they created a home full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Tom loved his family and always enjoyed spending time with them.
Tom is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Wanda (Gary) Dessart, Pam Wondergem, Joe (Kathee) Wondergem and Tricia (Mike) Perket; grandchildren, Zachary (Katie) Dessart, Emmie (Cole) Kucera, Colton Dessart, Dallas (Amy) Wondergem, Jenny (Derek) Overman, Jason (Bailey) Dzurick, Alicia (Jake) Lebick, Jacob (Tiffany) Lindbom, Thomas James Wondergem, Cortney Wondergem, Karissa Villas, Micah Perket, Remi (Pierre) Butterfly and Luke Perket; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Peter and Charlotte Wondergem, he was preceded in death by his son James Wondergem, and his brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 1 until 3 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 3pm in the funeral home.
