Thomas Gayle Wren, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born on March 24, 1943, in Freer, TX to Thomas Joseph and Mildred Bradley Wren, but grew up in Delhi, LA, where he graduated from Delhi High School.
After graduation, he enrolled at Centenary College of Louisiana in 1961. During his freshman year at Centenary, he met the love of his life, Regina Levinson, whom he married in 1965. The couple made their first home in Monroe, LA while Gayle finished pharmacy school at Northeast Louisiana University. Upon graduation in 1967, with a Masters Degree in Pharmacology, Gayle and Regina returned to Shreveport in 1967, as Gayle had been hired as the Director of Pharmacy at P&S Hospital. Gayle served in that role for 20 years before retiring in 1987. Retirement was short lived, as he went on to continue his career with Medic Pharmacy, Willis Knighton Pierremont and LifeCare Hospitals. He was loved by his customers for his compassion and knowledge of the industry. He retired for good in 2015 after 48 years of wonderful service.
Gayle was also involved in many organizations and hobbies outside of work that gave him immense joy and purpose. Gayle and Regina spent many years as a member of the Upper Room Class at Noel Memorial United Methodist Church. So many of their lifelong friends came from this class and they were blessed by those relationships throughout their life. When his wife Regina began working at First Methodist Church in the early 2000s, he moved his membership there and found a wonderful class that helped him grow his own spiritual faith. He was in involved in BSF Men’s Bible Study and also served as an usher for many years at First Methodist Church. He enjoyed driving the golf cart to escort members to church.
Another hobby that he loved was boating. As a member of the Power Squadron, Gayle helped to educate others in boating safety and navigation and also grow his own love and knowledge. He cherished being on the water with his family and friends. His boat, Tranquility, was his prize possession and brought him immense joy. In his later years, he found the joy of golf. He was a member of East Ridge Country Club and had his golf buddies to spend time with. As the “official tee time organizer” he spent almost every weekday at the course with his friends doing what he loved.
Gayle is survived by his wife of 60 years, Regina. They have two sons, Brad Wren and Blake Wren and daughter-in-law, Kristi Wren; five grandchildren, Emily Feazel, Bradley Wren, Will Wren, Landes Wren, and Reese Wren and also one great-grandson, Callum Feazel.
Gayle was a man of profound kindness, he was the quiet anchor of our family. His love was a steady, guiding force that extended beyond his family to anyone in need of a helping hand or a listening ear. Often described as a gentleman, Gayle was a servant of God, not by words, but by the way he lived.
