Thomas H. Yungwirth, age 92, of Green Bay passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Woodside Senior Living.
Tom was born August 26, 1932 in Fond du Lac, son of the late John and Veronica (Mayer) Yungwirth. He was a graduate of Goodrich High School with the Class of 1950. Tom then attended The University of Wisconsin-Madison. Afterwards, he began his teaching career at Two Rivers High School. On June 11, 1960 he was united in marriage to the former Agnes Endries in Manitowoc. In their early years of marriage, they owned and managed a restaurant in downtown Manitowoc. Then in 1966, Tom returned to education, at Ashwaubenon High School, where he remained for 24 years, teaching algebra and physics. During that time, he went on to earn his masters degree at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Tom was a member of the Wisconsin Education Association and the National Education Association. In his off days in the summer, he enjoyed playing golf. And he was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan and watched nearly every game both teams played. Next to marrying Agnes and the birth of his son Jay, the happiest day of his life was when the Cubs won the World Series. He was a shareholder in the Packers and he regularly attended training camp and the team's annual shareholder's meetings.
After retiring from teaching, Tom started two successful businesses that kept him busy, Tom's Tax Service and Video Replay. He was the official videographer for Ashwaubenon Village Board meetings.
Survivors include his wife: Agnes Yungwirth; one son and daughter-in-law: Jay & Christine Yungwirth; six grandchildren: Amy Yungwirth, Steven (Ally) Yungwirth, Sara Yungwirth (fiancée Jenna Wagner), Mariah (Nathan) Lamal, Kayley Sjoholm and Skyler Sjoholm (fiancée Lauren Brukardt); four great grandchildren: Emilia, Henry, Beau and William; one brother-in-law: Patrick Switlik, two sisters-in-law: Norma Pagel and Gladys Van Lannen as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. I had Mr. Yungwirth as a math teacher at AHS in the late 80s, but what I treasure were the optional Summer School classes in the library, working with video equipment and making creative use of multi-media resources and creative skit writing & performance. I'd give anything to have a copy of the compilation video we made at the end of the summer. Through Tom I was also able to be a weekly DJ after school, playing 45's and cassettes over WAHS cable TV for a few hours each week. Priceless memories. Thank you.

Tom was a good, kind, smart, and motivated man. I didn´t have him for a teacher, but knew of him. I got to know him when he recorded the meetings while I worked taking minutes at the Village Hall. Later, he did our taxes for many years. I hated to see him give it up, but he deserved it!

I offer my sympathy and prayers to the family and pray for the repose of his soul. May he rest in peace.

We moved around ALOT when I was growing up and my last High School was Ashwaubenon. I started mid-year sophomore and remember Mr. Yungwirth as plain as day. He was a kind and quiet teacher. I never did get to speak with him but, could tell he was a deep thinker was kind to everyone. He stood out. I will always remember him from over 50 years ago. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
