Tim MacDonald Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Minnesota (First Memorial Funeral Chapel) - Duluth on Dec. 17, 2025.
Tim MacDonald, 68, of Duluth – lifelong resident of Lakewood, died peacefully in his home on December 15, 2015.

Tim married Sharon (Jones), who he loved endlessly, on July 7th, 1979. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Jessica (Bob) and Mandi. Tim and Sharon just moved to their dream home on Island Lake.

Tim has two grandchildren who he adored beyond measure and were his whole world – Maci (8) and Maverick (6).

Tim, Papa John, Uncle Timmy was a one-of-a-kind husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.

Tim retired from Jamar in August 2018, after 30 plus years as a boom truck operator.

He was the best 'fix-it' man, fisherman, boat driving (whipping the tube) man, but most of all he was just 'The Best Man'!

Tim leaves behind his wife Sharon, daughters Jessica (Bob) and Mandi, grandchildren Maci and Maverick, brother Douglas (Peggy); sisters Barb (Phil), Vicki (Roger), Sandy, Connie (Tom), and Lisa, sister-in-law Karen (Wayne) and many, many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsa MacDonald; father-in-law, Bob Jones; mother-in-law, JoAnne Jones; and brother in-law, Roland Sward.

Tim will be deeply missed by many and leaves behind a legacy that will last forever.

A celebration of life will take place on January 3rd, 2026, from noon – 3pm at the Lakewood Townhall (3110 Stand Rd, Duluth).
