James Timothy Sears

Tim Sears, 79, began his greatest adventure of all on August 31, 2025. Tim was born on October 10, 1945, in Granbury, Texas, the son of the late Ted and Jerrye Hood Sears.

He was a retired teacher with 37 years of service in Texas and Wisconsin! He was known for his love of Shakespeare, mythology, poetry, teaching writing, corny jokes; his work as the historian of Lipan, Texas; caring about other; keep of the family trees and genealogy; and his abiding faith. He was a 1964 graduate of Lipan High School and took great pride in being one of the early white graduates with a M. Ed. at Prairie View A & M University. Most of all, he was known for being a friend to many.

Tim was preceded in death by Joe Dauchy who was the love of his life and partner of 27 years (and husband of 4 months) plus his beloved bassets. In addition, he was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rodney. Survivors are his brother Danny; nieces Jackie, Natalie and Amanda; great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was especially blessed to have the Krabath and Pipia families as his friends plus Frank, Bill, Tim, Lorri, Sid, Shelly and his church family at First United Methodist Church in Waukesha.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 AM at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH 121 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Waukesha. The service will be live streamed, and a link will be provided as the date gets closer.

Tim's request was to be cremated and placed next to Joe at Evergreen Cemetery in Lipan, Texas.

A special thank you to the entire ProHealth Care system for their care and support of both Tim and Joe through the years.

If you wish to honor Tim's life, please perform an act of kindness for someone, donate to your local food pantry or humane society or adopt a pet.
