Obituary of Tim Wells
Timothy "Tim" Wells, 60, of Windsor Heights, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Tim was born on July 15, 1964, in Newton, Iowa, to C. Richard Wells and Odilia "Delie" (Durbin) Wells. Known for his adventurous spirit and kind heart, Tim touched the lives of all who knew him.
Tim graduated from Newton High School with the Class of 1983. On December 29, 1990, he married Barbara "Barb" Jo Thompson at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Newton, Iowa. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared adventures. Among their favorite memories were trips to the Gulf of Mexico, where Tim enjoyed ocean fishing. He especially loved catching Red Snapper and sharing tales of his fishing exploits.
Tim had a dynamic career in sales, successfully working in industries ranging from HVAC equipment to plumbing and flooring materials. In 2010, he achieved a major milestone by founding Wells Commercial Flooring in Urbandale, Iowa. As owner and operator, Tim was known for his dedication to quality and his commitment to serving his customers. His business became a respected name in the community.
An avid outdoorsman, Tim's passions included hunting, fishing, and boating. He was a proud member of the Wild Turkey Federation and cherished time spent in nature. Tim also had a love for speed, enjoying dirt bikes and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. His zest for life and adventurous nature left a lasting impression on friends and family. Whether on a hunting trip or a motorcycle ride, Tim approached every experience with enthusiasm and joy.
Those left to honor Tim's memory include his wife, Barb Jo Wells; his mother, Delie Wells; his stepson, Jeff McGinn; his grandson, Brian McGinn; his sister, Traci (John) Guthrie; his brothers, Alan Wells, David Wells, and Tony (Lisa) Wells; and his brother-from-another-mother, Tyler Holtorf. Tim was preceded in death by his father, C. Richard Wells.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lions Park in Urbandale, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Barb Wells to assist with final expenses or to honor Tim's memory in a meaningful way.
