Tim Whitehead

Timothy M. Whitehead "Tim", passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, at his home in Monroe, Georgia. Tim was born December 29, 1952, to Henry "Doc" Whitehead, Jr. and Christine "Tina" Whitehead in Atlanta, Georgia.
Tim's career in the racing industry spanned over five decades, during which he played a significant role in shaping the racing landscape. His expertise and leadership as a Sales Manager for Reed Cams and Carrera Shocks set the stage for what would become his most notable venture. In 1983, Tim, alongside his business partner, George Gillespie, founded Pro Shocks, Inc. Tim's love for the sport extended beyond his business as he became the co-owner of Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Georgia. His contributions to the racing industry were immeasurable, and his legacy within it will endure for years to come.
Tim's life was not solely defined by his professional accomplishments but also by the love and dedication he showed to his family. After his retirement in 2012, Tim enjoyed spending time sitting on the back deck with family and friends doing as he called it, "Solving all the world's problems".
Tim was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Tina, and wife, Donna Sue Whitehead. He is survived by his son Cameron Whitehead (Amanda), Grandson Dustyn and Granddaughter Savannah. Brothers Jeffery and Andrew (Vikki), four nieces and nephews as well as his partner of the last 14 years Gay Crawford and her three children, Wanda, Joey and Amy and their spouses, her 6 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Tim Whitehead will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM until the time of service 2:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please consider a memorial donation to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org in memory of Tim Whitehead.
