Tim Wright, born on September 23, 1963, in Wheaton, IL, and a longtime heart of the Grand Rapids community, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. His life was a vibrant mixtape of joyous moments, memorable music, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. Tim was the cherished husband of Veronica Godfrey-Wright and the proud father and stepfather to Meghann (Joseph) Wright, Stephanie Wright, Ashley Wright, Somer Godfrey, and Brianna Godfrey. He was a doting grandfather to nine grandchildren who lit up his world with their laughter and curiosity. Born to William R. and Mary A. Wright, Tim inherited a zest for life and a kind-hearted spirit that he carried with him throughout his days. He was a beloved brother to Debbie (Jim) RePass, Billie Wright, Penny (Bob) Myro, and Nick (Sarah) Wright. His extended family of nieces, nephews, and relatives will fondly remember his generous nature and his ability to make every gathering a special occasion. Tim was preceded in death by his sister, MaryLynn Wright, whose memory he held close to his heart. Tim's passion for music was not just a hobby but a way of life. He turned his love for tunes into a career as a DJ and later, as the proud owner of the Remedy/Brick House in Grand Rapids. His taste in music was eclectic, with a particular fondness for the Beatles and anything that featured the soulful sounds of brass horns. Live music and concerts were not just events for Tim; they were experiences where he absorbed every note and shared his enthusiasm with those around him. As the self-appointed "organizer" of his infamous pool parties, Tim provided not just great food and live entertainment, but a sense of community and camaraderie that brought friends and family together. His legendary Halloween costumes were a testament to his creative spirit and his ability to celebrate the joy in life. Months of planning went into each outfit, ensuring that his presence was not just seen but felt. Christmas was a time of particular joy for Tim, reflected in his extensive Santa collection. The holiday season was an opportunity for him to spread cheer and warmth, decorating his home with the same love and care he showed to everyone he met. Above all, Tim will be remembered for his unconditional love for his family. His willingness to quietly help anyone in need, expecting nothing in return, spoke volumes of his character. His presence was a comforting constant, and his actions, a reminder of the goodness in the world. Tim Wright's life was a song of generosity, love, and laughter. His melody will resonate in the hearts of those he touched forever. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the harmony he brought to our lives and the quiet acts of kindness that defined his existence. He leaves behind a legacy of love and the enduring beat of a life well-lived.
