Timothy Armstrong, 78, of Gloversville, NY and Tierra Verde, FL, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
He fought a hard, yet short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family for the days preceding his passing. Tim was born on July 9, 1947, in Gloversville, NY, to the late James Armstrong and Lucy (Sammarco) Armstrong.
Tim was a devoted husband to MaryLouse Armstrong, whom he was married to for just short of 50 years. Tim was in the US Navy Seabees (Construction Battalion; "CB's"). He spent many years working as a sheet metal worker, for Local Union #83. He primarily worked in Schenectady, but did travel out of state to work at times. He happily retired in 2003 and spent his winter months in Tierra Verde, Florida with MaryLouise. He loved walking the beach, doing daily laps in the pool, sitting on the linae, and spending time with many Florida friends. Tim and MaryLouise loved to travel, whether on cruises or directly on the mainlands of many locations, they loved to explore and immerse themselves in different cultures.
In New York, he spent many hours at Sacandaga Lake and was especially happy when his family and friends joined him there for picnics, swimming, the ring of fire, and boating. Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, watching and listening to local NY sports. He often spent his weekends in hunting camp, and he took annual fishing trips to Saranac Lake. His love for these hobbies and interests was something he shared with his son, Jason, leaving fond memories that will never fade. Tim looked forward to his time with "the guys" for breakfast on Sundays.
Tim is survived by his loving and devoted wife, MaryLouise (Raucci) Armstrong; his daughter, Erica Mattice (Nancy); his son, Jason Armstrong (Michelle); his grandson, Joshua DiMezza (Jerica); his granddaughter, Marriana Mattice; and his grandson, Vincent Scott; as well as his great-granddaughter, Lillian DiMezza. He is also survived by his siblings, Rick Armstrong (Cathy), Janice Paul (Randy), and Karen Rector (Tom), several cousins, nieces and nephews, his best lifelong friend, Jimmy Nicosia, and many other friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville, NY at 10:30 AM.
There will be a military committal service in late spring at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.

Tim was always ready for an adventure. He was a devoted husband to MaryLouise and a great father. He loved being outdoors in the sunshine and was a great chef, preparing meals for friends & family. His friends in Florida will miss his smile and will treasure the memories he created.
