Obituary published on Legacy.com by Reis Family Mortuary and Crematory - San Luis Obispo on Jun. 5, 2025.
Tim Banducci, 76, of Arroyo Grande, passed away peacefully at home on May 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 17, 1948, to Benedict (Ben) and Isabelle (Issy) Banducci, Tim lived a life filled with integrity, adventure, and community.
A dedicated entrepreneur, Tim built a remarkable career in real estate. A graduate of West High School in Bakersfield, Tim journeyed to the Central Coast to attend Cal Poly SLO where he earned a BS degree in Business Administration. Thereafter, he began his career in real estate, operating B&W Management, Banducci and Associates, and eventually purchasing and building out California-West, Inc..
Tim cared deeply about family. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Marilyn, his sons, Derek (Chelsea) and Brett (Dominique); and his cherished grandchildren, Harper, Kohl, and Lucca.
In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his brothers, Gavin (Patty) and Damin(Christine); his sister-in-law Muriel Nielson; his many nieces and nephews; and he joins his previously deceased brothers, Brian and Eric.
Tim built countless friendships with an energetic spirit that touched all who knew him. Everyone agreed that he never met a stranger!
An avid outdoorsman, Tim found enjoyment backpacking, fishing, and skiing. Possibly, Tim's greatest enjoyment came from golfing with his friends followed by a game of dice.
He was a passionate supporter of Cal Poly athletics, serving as a past president and vice president of the Mustang Athletic Stampede Board. For many years, he and Marilyn traveled with close friends to all the Cal Poly "away" football games. He enjoyed attending Cal Poly basketball, soccer, and baseball games, as well.
His commitment to youth sports left a lasting impact, coaching and inspiring young athletes with enthusiasm. In 1994, the Arroyo Grande Chamber of Commerce presented him with the 'Ken Talley Award.' This award recognizes individuals For outstanding Service to the Youth of Our Community. Tim's commitment to building out the local AYSO Soccer League involved his role as regional commissioner, coach, referee, and parent.
Tim's legacy on the Central Coast is defined by his deep commitment to community service. He supported 4-H by forming a "Buyer's Group" which would purchase livestock raised by local youth at the Santa Barbara County Fair every year. His involvement with Rotary International led to the founding of the Five Cities Men's Club, where he served as its second president, 1997-98. Through regular meetings and fundraising for local projects, the club became one of Tim's enduring passions-one he remained dedicated to through his final day.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2-5 pm, at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
