Timothy Aloysius Bellando, age 67, passed away of natural causes at his home in Portland, Oregon on March 27, 2024. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 31, 1956.
After graduating from Camas Valley High School in 1974, Tim attended Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls. He was the first in his family to earn a college degree, graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology. Tim used his skills as a professional automotive technician for over 30 years. He was a master mechanic, earning multiple certifications from the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Care for the customer was paramount to Tim. He had many repeat clients, and he was requested by others through word of mouth. Countless customers followed Tim when he changed jobs.
Tim lived his life with a spirit of optimism and joy, often using personally created quotes to share that spirit with others. "Stay cool; be cool" and "Wait, don't hang up; Your voice is important", were a couple of Tim's more revered quotes. He was one of 14 siblings and loved each family member. He took pride in the planning of anniversary celebrations for his parents and family reunions. He enjoyed attending family events, weddings, sporting events, recitals, baptisms and other activities of his many nieces and nephews.
Tim loved his hobbies. He was a loyal NASCAR fan, never missing a race on TV. He and his life partner Debbe Ross loved camping, especially on the Oregon Coast and at Timothy Lake in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Tim's love for the Grateful Dead was unmatched. As a "Deadhead", songs like Truckin, Sugar Magnolias and Scarlet Begonias were always playing in his car and at his home. He attended concerts, collected memorabilia, and made many recordings of the group over the years. A deadhead sticker was a trademark on each of his cars.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, William and Jean Bellando, his sisters Mary and Catherine Bellando, brother Pat Bellando and life partner Debbe Ross. Remaining family members include his siblings Mike (Rowena) Bellando of Camas Valley, Terry Hill of Roseburg, Kit (Dennis) Wolfe of Camas Valley, Jody Madsen of Grants Pass, Jamie (Kristi) Bellando of Glendale, Rory Bellando of Roseburg, Megan Burton-Bellando of Canby, Andy (Rhonda) Bellando of Silverton, Chris Bellando of Brownsville, Tony (Joanne) Bellando of Camas Valley and Cousin Ellen Campbell of Novato, California. He is also survived by more than 35 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Tim's love of others and his kindness for each of his animals are tributes to the beauty of his heart and soul. While his journey to Heaven happened sooner than we hoped, God's plan for Tim prevailed. We miss you, brother.
At his request, Tim's ashes will be spread by family at a future date.

I lived in the same apartment complex as Tim in SE Portland. I know him as a generous kind thoughtful helpful man. He gave me a wood duck as a gift. He wrote "Vivian. To a good friend. From a good friend. Tim That was 38 years ago. I have always displayed that duck prominently in my home wherever I live and still do to this day in Austin, Texas. Just curious about Tim I googled and saw his Obit. I'm feeling sad and grateful. He certainly had an impact in my life.

RIP Tim. You were part of the great class of 1974 Camas Valley H.S.

Tim had a great sense of humor! On the bus to and from sporting events, he would put his partial fingers up to his nose and make faces at people going by. He was a kind person. So sorry that he didn't get to our 50th class reunion, as we were all looking forward to seeing him!
