Timothy Alan Black, 67, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, December 22, 2025, at his residence.
Tim was born on September 3, 1958, in Indianapolis to Ben and Judy (Stewart) Black. He is survived by his partner of 18 years, Kim Grider of Indianapolis; his son, David (Olivia) Black of Whiting, Indiana; and his stepson, Logan Grider of Indianapolis. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Karen Black; niece, Shannon (Mike) Robertson; nephew, Geoff (Deanna) Black; a great-niece, Jaidan, and great-nephews Dylan and Dakota, all of Ellettsville, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tracy Black.
Tim graduated from North Central High School in 1976. He went on to build a successful career as a computer programmer for 41 years, working for Gene B. Glick, Horine Associates, and Cloud Proven Networks for the past 22 years. He retired in June 2025.
Tim had a lifelong love of bowling and was an accomplished bowler, achieving six perfect 300 games, two 800 series, and winning many competitions over the years. In his free time, he also enjoyed online gaming. Above all, Tim was known for being a loving and caring person with a great sense of humor. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends for his kindness, warmth, and ability to make others laugh.
A Celebration of Life will be held in early 2026, with details to be announced. Memorial contributions are suggested in Tim's memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Murat Shrine, 510 N. New Jersey Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
