On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, LCpl Timothy "Tim/Timmy" William Brown, loving son, brother, cousin, uncle, father, grandfather and friend to many, passed away suddenly at the age of fifty-seven. Born on February 18, 1967, Tim grew up and lived most of his life in Moorestown, New Jersey.
It was clear that even at an early age Tim had a vivid imagination and loved to create through writing stories and illustration. He applied these talents in school, where, by the time he was a senior at Moorestown High School, he was the art editor of the 1985 Nutshell Yearbook and was an honored recipient of an arts award from the United States National Achievement Academy. To further build upon his artistic talents and knowledge after graduation, Tim attended Antonelli Institute of Art & Photography where he attained an Associate of Applied Science degree in 1987. He also was a 2008 graduate from the Westwood College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Tim's talents expanded beyond the two-dimensional, as he also worked with textiles and played several musical instruments. It was not unusual to see Tim pick up a guitar to play a song, if there happened to be one within reach.
In addition to his passion for the arts, Tim loved to study history and conduct genealogical research. He assisted family members in the exploration of their family tree. Finding out who his ancestors were was not enough, though. He had a desire to know their stories, so his investigative work would always lead him down a more in-depth path.
Between his time at Antonelli and Westwood College, Tim made the decision to serve his country by enlisting in the Marine Corp. He proudly served in the 2nd Radio Battalion from 1989 to 1993. One of his favorite memories during his time in the service was when he had to travel to Norway. Visiting that part of the world was exciting for him due to its rich history.
Tim's knowledge and passion of American history flowed into real-life through his participation in historical military re-enactments. Whether he was a soldier in the American Revolution or the Civil War, Tim could easily mold himself to fit the part. He even visited elementary schools dressed as a soldier to teach children about the history of our country.
Tim worked as a screen printer for many years. He found his calling, though, by accident after attending his great-niece's first birthday party at Allaire State Park. It was the history. He first began as a volunteer for many years, helping out where needed and participating in re-enactments. He eventually was hired as the Village Manager, where he organized events and continued to do what he loved most, going back in time to represent a piece of our history.
Family was extremely important to Tim. Once he returned to Moorestown, he raised his two girls in his family home with his mother. Tim once said, "To me, this is the meaning of life: Raising children to carry on after you've left this world. I love my daughters, Autie & Meaghann." He was a wonderful father, teaching his children life-long lessons along the way. Friends were family to him and he loved all of his family beyond measure. Tim touched the lives of everyone he met and will be missed immensely by all who knew him.
Tim was predeceased by his parents, Edward Brown and Mary Young. He is survived by his loving daughters, Katheryn "Autie" (Patrick) and Meaghann (Tom); his grandchildren, Ella, RJ, Oliver and Mary; his siblings Edward (Dianne), Kimberly (Ralph), and Karen (Keith); his nieces and nephews Eileen, Rebecca (Mark), Kate (Mick), Mikayla (Joe), Julia, Heather, Chase, Samuel, Amelia, William and Jack; and many more extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at the VFW Post 2445, 914 E. Main Street, Maple Shade, NJ on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 12:30 to 3:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Travis Manion Foundation or a local veterans group. Arrangements are entrusted to Steverson, Hamlin and Hilbish Funerals and Cremations in Tavares, FL. Online condolences can be left at www.steversonhamlinhilbish.com

When the Brown family moved in the other half of our house on South Church St. I had a brother Tim, So Tim Brown we called "Little Timmy." Goof friend over the years. Him and his brother Ed. Me and Tim had the "history" thing in us. I remember dropping my Buck knife off with his Mom for him to re-point the blade. He did and there was never a question of money involved. We just took care of each other. He went to early. Gonna miss Tim.

Tom was a great guy to work with at Allaire. Always willing to help out and always with a smile. I'll really miss joking around with him in the blacksmith shop. So long Pard.
