William Farrell III, of Voorhees, NJ, passed away on May 31st, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born to the late William Farrell Jr., and Doris (nee Bailey) on April 3rd, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA. William, lovingly known as Bill to his friends and family, is the beloved brother of the late Linda (Steven) Capilli (2011). Growing up, Bill attended Moorestown High School as graduating class of 1966. During his time in high school, Bill was an active participant in track and field, even while being flat-footed. After graduation, Bill was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War, defending our country that he so proudly loved.
While home from the Army, Bill had met and married Deborah Farrell for nearly 30 years before separating. The pair welcomed their two loving children, William (Ashley) Farrell IV and Amanda (Mark) Steinhagen. As a family, they enjoyed spending quality time together going down the shore, taking family vacations to Disney World, and attending baseball games for the Atlanta Braves. Bill loved being their father, he enjoyed sharing his personal hobby of tropical fish with his kids. Bill showed his children how to raise and take care of the animals. As his children grew up and became parents, Bill earned his new title as grandpa to Allie, Zoey, Joshua, and Faith. Bill loved spending time with his family, having family events filled with laughter and cheer as the little ones ran around.
When Bill was not spending time with his family, he could be found working at the Seafood counter at the supermarket, listening to The Beach Boys or Temptations, and watching the Atlanta Braves. Bill was the founder and president of the Tri-State Tropical Fish Association and a member of Knights of Columbus.
Bill will be remembered fondly for his kind heart, selfless personality, and devotion to his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bill's visitation on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, from 2pm – 3pm at Givnish Funeral Home, located at 600 E. Main Street, Maple Shade, NJ, 08052, followed by a funeral ceremony at 3pm.
Interment will be held privately by the family.
