Timothy Allen Clayton, 63, of Burlington, WV, died on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the United Hospital Center of WVU Medicine in Bridgeport, WV.

Born on September 24, 1961 in Fort Belvoir, VA, he was the son of the late Shelby Jean (Ellifritz) Heckert and James A. Heckert. He was also preceded in death by a Son, Timothy "TJ" Clayton, a sister, Tammy Splawn and his mother and father-in-law Betty Lou "Butch" and Stephen C. Hartman.

Mr. Clayton worked in maintenance all his life. He was a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Purgitsville, WV and a graduate of Keyser High School class of 1979. He was a huge sports fan with the Las Vegas Raiders and WVU football being his favorite teams to support. He was always a big helper. Anyone that needed help, he was always right there to lend a hand. His favorite thing in life was his granddaughter Anaya and she wants everyone to know that she loved her pappy very much and loved giving him forehead kisses.

Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Denise Dawn Clayton; his children Dea R. Clayton and Christopher A. Clayton and wife Lisa, both of Burlington; Brothers Jim Clayton and wife Diana and Steve Clayton and wife Tweet, Burlington; Sisters Lynette Buckley and husband Randy of Romney, WV and E'Lese Crouch of Tybee Island, GA; and his special granddaughter Anaya Jean Clayton of Burlington; Also surviving are many many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Friends are asked to come as you are to Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 6-8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Shrout. An hour visitation will be held prior to the service. Interment will be held at Elijah High Cemetery.

The family ask in lieu of flowers contributions be sent to Smith Funeral Home.
