Timothy Randall Combs, a cherished member of his community and a beloved friend to many, passed away on January 15, 2025, at Well's Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky. He was 61 years old. Born on September 16, 1963, in Hazard, Kentucky, Timothy was known for his unwavering spirit and dedication to his family and friends.
Throughout his life, Timothy worked as a coal miner, contributing to an industry that has been vital to the local economy. His hard work and determination were evident to all who knew him, and his commitment to his career was a reflection of his strong character and work ethic.
Timothy had a deep love for his pets, especially his cats, Notch and Patches. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was cheering for his beloved UK sports teams, immersing himself in the compelling narratives of old westerns, or keeping an eye on the weather channel. These interests painted a picture of a man who found happiness in both the company of his pets and the comfort of familiar routines.
He is survived by his sister, Sherry Sherman, and her husband, Wendell; his brother, Jerry Don Combs, and his wife, Dixie; as well as nieces Madisyn Combs, Ginger Hensley, and Shelley Watts. Timothy also leaves behind nephews Eddie Sherman and his wife, Ashlie, and Travis Sherman and his wife, Vanessa, along with a host of great nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, Randall Combs and Bennita Hensley Combs, and his brother, Bobby "Jack" Maggard. Their legacy lives on in the memories shared by his family, who will carry forward the love and lessons he imparted during his time with them.
As friends and family come together to celebrate his life, they will remember Timothy for his kindness, his laughter, and the warmth he brought into their lives. His absence will be keenly felt, but his spirit will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
