COPPLE, TIMOTHY EDWIN "TIM", 69, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at Kansas Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.
Tim was born on March 21, 1956, in Oakland, Nebraska, to Jack Edwin and Irma Jean (Jacobson) Copple. He grew up on the family farm near Lyons, Nebraska, as the youngest of four children. Life on the farm taught Tim the value of hard work and responsibility. At the age of 3, he was the "official" egg washer and packer of their 1,000 laying hens. He was often found doing chores before school and right after, always helping with the many tasks that farm life required.
Even up until the day he went to the emergency room, he was looking at the crops and thinking soy beans needed to get harvested. Although he may have stopped farming many years ago, his passion, and appreciation for farmers never ended.
He always enjoyed watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers, especially in the early years with Tom Osborne as coach. Tim attended school in Rosalie, Nebraska, and graduated with the Class of 1974, where he also played football. After high school, he continued to work alongside his dad on the family farm, faithfully helping to keep things running until 1993.
It was through church that Tim met the love of his life, in the college and career class Jerrilyn Kubish and became good friends over the years. Their 5 year friendship turned into something more, and on August 4, 1984, they went on their first date. Less than a year later, on July 5, 1985, they were married-choosing the day after Independence Day to humorously celebrate, as they would say, "giving up their independence."
In 1993, Tim and Jerrilyn followed God's direction and moved to Kansas to be closer to her family. He later joined Luper's Body Shop as office manager before settling into his longtime position at Kansasland Tire in Park City, where he worked for 17 years.
Tim was a man who enjoyed the simple but meaningful things in life. He loved being outdoors-farming, gardening, and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes. He also had a deep appreciation for history, woodworking, and fine craftsmanship. Tim was known for being hardworking, honest, and straightforward-he said what he meant and meant what he said. Beneath his no-nonsense demeanor was a quick wit, a fun-loving spirit, and a bit of orneriness that made him the best storyteller around with his one of a kind farm jargon. His games of both Chinese Checkers and checkers were legendary in the family, and his laughter filled any room he was in.
Above all, Tim loved the Lord. His faith was the foundation of his life and the quiet strength behind everything he did.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jerrilyn; their daughters Lyndsey Copple, Stacey Copple, and Kelsey Jackola and her husband Kody, three sisters; his mother-in-law Eunice; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Irma Copple, his grandparents, and their baby May 23,1996 and his father-in-law Gus Kubish.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time, with the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, both at the old Treerific Nursery, 13594 US 400, just east of Andover, with Pastor Kevin Kubish officiating. Tim will be laid to rest at Bruno Township Cemetery on North 21st Street in Andover.
Tim will be remembered for his faith, his humor, and his unwavering love for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, the impact of his kindness, integrity, and faith will live on through all who knew and loved him.
