Horace Clifford Copple

Horace Clifton Copple, 91, of Torrington, Wyo., died Dec. 29, 2025, at Goshen Healthcare Community in Torrington.

The son of Lewis and Ruth Copple, he was born May 12, 1934, in Loveland, Colo. He attended Loveland schools and graduated from Loveland High School in 1952. He worked at the Mattress Factory in Loveland, was a police officer with the Loveland Police Department for six years and served in the United States Army for two years. He was a meter reader for 30 years with Public Service Company (now Excel) until he retired in 1994.

He was married to Carol Anderson Orr on Aug. 31, 1963, until her death on Feb. 7, 2018. He is survived by two daughters, Heidi (Glenn) Padilla of Yoder, Wyo., and Becky Orr of Torrington, Wyo.; granddaughter, Rachel, of Yoder, sisters Barbara Melton and Merta Melton, both of Loveland; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elizabeth Culp of Longmont, and Margaret Copple of Loveland and brothers-in-law Elton Culp, Eugene Melton and Larry Melton.
