Timothy Farmer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service - Ahoskie Chapel on Jan. 2, 2026.
AHOSKIE, NC - Timothy "Timmy" Wade Farmer, aged 65, of Bertie County, North Carolina, passed away suddenly on December 31, 2025, at ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family. Timmy was born on June 7, 1960, in Bertie County, North Carolina, to the late Jim L. Farmer, Jr., and Florence Jean Belch Farmer.
Timmy dedicated much of his life to farming, a calling that brought him immense joy as he cultivated the land around him. He was well-known in his community for his work with Hog Slat, where he faithfully served as a counter salesman. His passion for the land extended into his hobbies; Timmy loved gardening and raising chickens. He derived great pleasure from tending to the earth and caring for his animals. An enthusiast of International Tractors and Ford Trucks, Timmy enjoyed nothing more than relaxing with a good Pepsi.
A devoted lifetime member of Ebenezer Assembly of God, Timmy was deeply rooted in his faith. He served his congregation as a deacon, a worship team member, and Sunday School Superintendent, embodying a true man of God who loved Jesus dearly. He also shared his God-given talent through singing, bringing joy to those around him.
Timmy cherished his family above all else, especially his beloved granddaughter, Hallie Grace, who affectionately called him "Papa." He delighted in every moment spent playing with her and held family as the center of his world. Timmy will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his dedication to his family, faith, and community leaving an indelible mark on those he blessed with his kindness and generosity. May he rest in peace.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Feher Farmer; his daughters, Elizabeth Farmer Hoggard and husband Travis of Windsor, and Heather Farmer Cullipher and husband Chandler of Colerain; and his treasured granddaughter, Hallie Grace Cullipher. He is also survived by his sisters: Peggy Dunlow of Askewville, Christine Morris of Aulander, Sarah Kirkland and husband Joe of Margaretsville, Joyce Beam and husband Butch of Morganton, Ruth Hoggard and husband Terry of Windsor, and brother Stephen Farmer and wife Anne of Aulander, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 3, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie. A celebration of Timmy's life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Ebenezer Assembly of God in Aulander, North Carolina. There will be a private burial.
