It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Timothy Frank Fendon, D.O. (Dr. Tim) of Hinsdale, a man of unmatched wit, intelligence, and generosity, who left this world far too soon after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 57 on December 16, 2024.
As an emergency room physician, Tim dedicated his life to helping others, bringing healing and hope to countless people during their most vulnerable moments. His colleagues admired his skill, his compassion, and the levity he brought to even the most stressful days.
Generosity was the core of who Tim was. Whether offering his time, resources, or a shoulder to lean on, he gave freely and with his whole heart. He worked tirelessly to ensure his children had a joyful and memorable childhood, filled with opportunities and laughter. From family vacations to supporting their college and future dreams, his dedication to their happiness and success was boundless.
Outside of work and family, Tim was the life of the party, armed with a sharp wit and a playful sense of humor that could brighten anyone's day. He found joy in surrounding himself with good people. His kindness and selflessness knew no limits.
Tim is survived by many, including his wife and best friend, Sonia. He was the proud and loving father to his children, Nicholas, Jack, and Elise; the cherished son to Patricia Fendon; and a beloved brother to his two sisters, Peg Cox (Jeff) and Kate Fendon. Tim leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity that will be cherished forever by a vast network of family, friends, and colleagues who will miss him deeply.
Rest in peace, Tim. You gave so much to this world, and we will carry your love, laughter, and generosity in our hearts always.
Tim chose a private memorial celebrated with immediate family only.
