Timothy Wayne Ferguson
August 15, 1953 – July 17, 2025
ZEBULON – Timothy Wayne Ferguson, 71, went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, July 17, 2025. He was born in Franklin County to the late Hal Pearce and Marie Bullock Ferguson. At five years old, he started driving tractors and working his family's farm helping his dad farm tobacco and hogs. Growing up, he always watched over his three sisters and loved them dearly. Once graduating Bunn High School in 1972, he worked with his father, Hal at Westinghouse. Tim married his wife, Mae on February 17, 1984. He worked at Square D before starting his lawn care business, T. W. Ferguson Lawn Maintanence in 1999.
Tim had a loving heart and was a hard worker, something he passed on to his grandson, Dylan, who was also his pride and joy. When he wasn't working, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Tim never met a stranger. He enjoyed taking trips to the mountains and loved his dogs. He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Donald Blackwell and Larry Bryant; sister-in-law, Vicky Griffin; and best friends, David Brantley and Bobby Fowler.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Ferguson; grandson, Dylan Whitley (Makayla); son, Chris Whitley; sisters, Wanda Blackwell "baby sister" of Zebulon, Bonnie Bryant of Samaria, and Anita Privette (Jay) of Zebulon; nephews, Jason Bryant (Carina) and Jeffrey Bryant (Jordan); sisters-in-law, Margie Brantley (Danny) and Donna Bunn (Jerry) of Zebulon; and many beloved cousins and friends.
The family finds peace in knowing he is no longer in any pain and is with his Savior, and many loved ones, cutting Heaven's grass.
Visitation will be held 3:30-5:00pm on Friday, July 25, 2025, with a memorial service to follow at 5:00pm at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, NC 27591.
Flowers are welcomed, or if you would prefer, contributions towards a memorial may be made to Tim's grandson, Dylan Whitley.
Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. www.stricklandfuneral.com
