October 13, 1965 – December 29, 2023
Timothy Goodman transitioned to Glory on December 29, 2023, age 58. He was born on October 13, 1965 to Mrs. Irene Eackels and the late Baron Ned Goodman, Sr.
On September 30, 1995 Timothy was united in Holy Matrimony Lynette Joseph Goodman, a very loving, faithful and devoted wife of 28 years. This union was blessed with 2 children: DeKimbe Goodman of Jackson, MS and Zebadiah Goodman of Ama, LA. On April 24, 1991 Tim was blessed with his only daughter Asisah White (Alvin). He was a loving devoted husband, father and proud grandfather to Tristian and Skylar White, Jeremiah, Demi and Baylie Goodman.
He was a native of Avondale, LA and a resident of Ama, LA for the past 16 years. Tim was educated in the Baton Rouge and Jefferson Parish School System. He later attended Jefferson Parish Business College. 2008 God gifted Tim to be a Journeyman Carpenter for over 20 years. Tim was a Journeyman at Avondale Shipyards, Cleveland Constrution, Ramco Construction, Lemco and I&I Construction. Timothy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Baron Ned Goodman, Sr. and later rededicated his life to Christ at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in St. Rose, LA by the Rev. Isiah Franklin, Jr.
He truly had a heart for people and was especially known for being a cheerful giver. He enjoyed working, fishing, cooking, making people laugh, making mess and most of all spending quality time with his grandkids and loved playing his keyboard. His favorite scripture was Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
He leaves his memories to cherish to his wife Lynette Goodman, 3 children, Asisah White (Alvin), Dekimbe Goodman of Jackson, MS and Zebadiah Goodman of Ama, LA. His 5 grandchildren, Tristian and Skylar White and Jeremiah, Demi and Baylie Goodman. His mother Irene Eackels (Oliver) of Baton Rouge, LA, 5 brothers, Baron (Angela) Goodman of Avondale, LA, Ivy (La'Keithia) Miller, Cardell(Justine)Goodman, Mitchell Goodman, Shawn (Victoria) Goodman of Baton Rouge, LA. 2 sisters Ethel Omoregie of Baton Rouge, LA and Louis (Alden) Heard of Metairie, LA. 4 brothers-in-law; Willie (Sontrell) Joseph of Boutte, LA, Eldon (Naomi) Joseph of Reserve, LA, Kendall ((Tamera) Joseph of Thibodaux, LA, Derrell Joseph of Laplace, LA. 2 Sisters-in-law Alice (Rodney) Lesene of New Orleans, LA and Seameka Joseph of Laplace, LA. Godchild Naishaun Joseph of Reserve, LA and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted friends.
Timothy was proceeded in death by his father Baron Ned Goodman, Sr., his sister Deborah Williams, Mother-in-law Mildred Joseph, Father-in-law Willie Strickland, Paternal grandparents, Morgan Tate and Pearl Goodman, Maternal grandparents Oscar and Florine Miller.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastor, Officers and Members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 10867 River Road, Ama, LA 7003. Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named church. Interment Restlawn Park Cemetery, 3540 US-90, Avondale, LA 70094. The Repass will be at WB Avondale Playground, 709 S. Jamie Blvd. Avondale, LA 70094. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H. Sanders Funeral Home & Funeral Directors, Inc. 605 Main Street, Laplace, LA 70068. 985-359-1919. I was Thinking about the time my Brother Tim came to Mama Sylvia's house and wanted to take her and me for a ride on a motorcycle. I went it was a moment in time.
