AUGUSTA, MAINE

Timothy "Timmy" James Grant, 64, of Augusta, ME, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Gardiner, ME, on October 19, 1960, to the late Lois (Quimby) and Thomas Grant, Sr.

Timmy attended Gardiner Area schools and proudly served in the Maine Army National Guard for 37 years, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 2016. His career also included five years at Bath Iron Works and 29 years as a Federal Technician for the Maine Army National Guard at Camp Keyes. A proud veteran, Timmy served overseas in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2005 to 2006.

Timmy was a member of the Augusta Masonic Lodge, where he was a Past Master, and the Order of the Eastern Star where he was a Worthy Patron.

Outside of his dedicated service and work, Timmy found great joy in the outdoors-especially hunting, time at the family camp in Lee, racing, and traveling with Susan. But above all, he treasured time spent with family. Timmy was truly the life of the family party, lighting up every gathering with his laughter, stories, "amateur" pyrotechnic displays, and boundless energy.

Timmy is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Susan (Simard); his son, Timothy (TJ); his daughter, Sarah; and four grandchildren whom he deeply cherished: Elijah, Derek (Madeline), Rachel, and Olivia. Bothers Richard and DeeDee, Michael and Tammy, Jeffrey and Michelle, Scott and Tracey, and James and Tammy; as well many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Thomas Grant Jr.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, humor, and strength that will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. The family would like to thank the Oncology team at Togus VA hospital, and the Beacon Hospice care team for their endless care and support.
