Timothy Jeremiah Lyons, age 27, of Mentor, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025. Born August 11, 1997, in Hiram, Ohio, he was the beloved partner of Rachel Bauman and the cherished son of Anne E. Lyons (nee Bruening) and Kevin R. Lyons (dec.). Timothy was a loving brother to Michael L. (Stephanie) Lyons Sr., Katherine (Kerry) A. Lyons (Craig Hansen), David T. Lyons, Patrick J. Lyons, and Daniel J. Lyons. He was a treasured uncle to Michael J. Lyons, Jr., and adored grandson of Margaret J. Bruening (dec.), Robert J. Lyons (dec.) and Bettie A. Madansky. Timothy is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Growing up, Tim spent his early days playing with his siblings and friends from Cherry Hill Drive. He loved playing soccer and lifting weights at the Painesville YMCA. Tim was a graduate of Riverside High School. After graduation he attended Lakeland Community College and loved working with his cousins at Solid Rock Excavation and CK Stonescaping. He eventually branched off to start his own construction company. He was incredibly handy, ambitious and hardworking. He was proud of his many projects and loved sharing them with those around him.
Tim had an incredible sense of humor and brilliant wit. He was very playful and loved joking and laughing with his siblings, cousins, and friends. He was happiest spending time around all the people he loved. He brought immense joy to everyone around him and loved his people without reservation. He was generous and selfless to a fault.
Tim had many passions. He was immensely proud of his Irish Heritage. He was a gifted writer, problem-solver, and a talented craftsman. He loved his Chevy Silverados (and he did have a few over the years). Together with his partner, Rachel, he collected gemstones, crystals and succulents, many of which he enjoyed gifting to family and friends. Two of his favorite things were a good adventure and eating a home cooked meal. He carried his favorite bible verses in his wallet, Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" and John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
Tim was the fifth of six siblings. He was an incredibly loved and cherished member of the Lyons Tribe. He loved his family and spent a great deal of time with them. He loved having deep conversations with his mom and siblings. His family was a significant source of pride and he offered them his unwavering support. They will carry him with them always.
Tim found so much fulfillment and peace in his relationship with his partner, Rachel. Together they loved having adventures, being outside, going to festivals, concerts, and restaurants, and spending time with their Rottweilers, Kane and Bennie. He loved her with all his heart.
Tim was an animal lover. He adored his best friend and rottweiler, Kane. Together they spent many hours riding around in Tim's truck, fueled by a constant supply of Starbucks and Chick-fil-a chicken sandwiches. Tim loved taking Kane and Bennie, and his family's dogs Sparky and Lola, to many parks in the Mentor and Willoughby areas, especially Mentor Headlands Beach Park and Gully Brook Park.
Tim's kind spirit touched the lives of everyone he met. He valued building a character of courage and resilience. He persevered in the face of struggle and gave one hundred percent effort to every relationship and endeavor in his life. He lived life with unparalleled authenticity, unapologetically himself. He was a beautiful soul and his memory will be a blessing and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
"The true meaning of life is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit."
Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center Street, Mentor, Ohio. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with Senior Pastor Rev. James Porostosky officiating. Burial will follow at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, Ohio.
