Timothy P. Masterson DDS peacefully passed away on July 25, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 21, 1950 in Denver, CO, he was the sole practitioner of his popular Family Dental Practice in Centennial, CO for nearly 42 years.
He was a graduate of Regis Jesuit High School ('68) and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Biology at Creighton University ('72). There he met his loving wife of 49 years, Jane Harrington Masterson. He then went on to the Creighton University School of Dentistry where he earned his DDS in 1977.
He served as 1st Lieutenant in the Army, followed by the Reserves until 1980. A member of the Colorado and American Dental Association since 1977, he was the founding Board Member for CDA Malpractice Insurance Trust, served as a delegate for the CDA, and donated dental work for the underserved with the Colorado Mission of Mercy, Women in Need Organization, local preschools and elementary schools.
Throughout his long career he performed his profession with empathy, enjoyment, and incredible patient care. It was always his goal to treat each and every patient with compassion and respect and to always perform the absolute best work possible. His hobbies included skiing, biking, golf, tennis, hiking and spending weekends with his family in the mountains and whenever possible on the beach. He was a walking encyclopedia and made history come alive as he traveled the world with his family. Most importantly, he had an enthusiasm for life with a love for learning and meeting new people, he made a connection with everyone he came in contact with. He lived his Catholic faith daily in his giving to others and his legacy of a faith based education he provided for his sons. He always said it was the foundation for life.
He was the son of Viola and Thomas Masterson (of blessed memory), and is survived by his wife Jane, his three wonderful sons, Sean (wife Colleen) CA, Ryan (husband Lucas) NY, Devin (wife Genna) CO, and two beautiful grandchildren, Ethan and Finnegan, CA. He is also survived by siblings; Diane Phillips, Jim Masterson, Kate Masterson and Phil Masterson; numerous nieces, nephews and too many friends to count. Tim had a million dollar smile, a twinkle in his eye, and the kind of laugh and humor that made life fun!
Services will be held Thursday, August 17th, 12:00 PM at St Thomas More Catholic Church. Reception to follow at 1:30PM.

Tim was a great friend, confident leader and passionate communicator. I'm sorry, but I have a doctor's appointment (booked 4 mos. ago). Haven't seen him lately, but I remember all of my Regis HS friends often. Requiescat in pace.

Tim was a year behind me at Regis High School. We played baseball together on the B team and later the varsity. He was a scrappy competitor and always fun to engage in conversation. Many years later he filled a hole in my mouth with a gold tooth. A terrific dentist! I´m saddened by his death and extend my condolences to Jane and the boys.

Tim and I were classmates at Creighton University for four years. He lived in the dorms and I was a townie. Early on we blended a group together on Omaha guys mostly from Creighton Prep and Tim and his fellow dormers. We were inseparably - we played sports together, partied together, and studied together. Tim was an anchor of the group - his upbeat personality, wit, charm were always on display. We delighted in our friends´ successes such as when Tim was admitted to dental school. Most of all, we were thrilled when Tim and Jane became a couple. I was fortunate to know Jane in high school. I often remarked to Tim how lucky he was to have met her. He readily acknowledged his fortune. I left Omaha after graduation and went to Washington DC so I have missed decades of his life. Nevertheless, in reading his obituary, it is very evident that he lived a life that was rich only in the ways that matter. Tim, your life is a blessing for us. God´s speed.

Timbo was a full on life force for good . He inspired, helped and loved all who were lucky enough to encounter him. He was also full of fun, action, laughter and adventure . He lit up the room with his million watt smile , flashing wit and beautiful sparking blue Irish eyes. He was a great husband , dad and friend and will live in our hearts forever. Love you Beau. God Speed and Safe Home.
Look forward to celebrating your remarkable life with Janey and the boys and all your family and friends.

I just happened to be visiting my son Jason in Castle Rock. I had lunch today with one of Tim´s loyal patients and was informed of his death. I worked for Dr Tim for many years as his dental assistant and Receptionist. My heart goes out to his family for their loss. He was a wonderful man and a very good Dentist. He had so many patients that loved him dearly. He was wonderful to work for and fun to be around. I must say he had the Gift of Gab which would usually put us behind with our patients daily, but his patients loved him! We had some really good laughs, especially on Halloween when his staff would arrive in costumes and he would be so embarrassed! I´ll never forget the morning he arrived to work with an ash mark on his forehead! (It was Ash Wednesday) Well, me not being Catholic approached him and said "what is that on your forehead""as I reached up to rub it off. He immediately backed up and put his hands up and said don´t touch that! He then explained to me what it was! Lol He was a very devoted Catholic and loved his church! Needless to say, I never did that again. Lol I totally respected him for that! I worked for him for many many years! My heart is broken! Rest in Peace Dr Tim!
