Timothy Ortiz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors - Midland Chapel on Feb. 20, 2026.
Timothy Allen Ortiz, of Midland, met his Lord and Savior peacefully at home, on February 18, 2026, after a life-long battle with diabetes.

Tim was born on February 10, 1965, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The son of Amelia Ortiz and Gerald Crawford, who became his dad and hero later in Tim's life. He was a 1983 graduate of St. Louis High School, where he excelled in track and cross-country. Shortly after high school, he married the love of his life, Lisa Marie Warner on July 13, 1985. They spent 41 wonderful years together, building a life full of love, faith, and companionship.

Tim was a minister of the gospel for many years. His mission in life was sharing the love of Jesus with anyone he could, and serving the Lord in any way he could. His faith served as a pillar in his life, and he and Lisa instilled that in their children as they grew to love the Lord. Tim was a very lyrical guy, and had a knack for being able to pick up an instrument. For about 4 years, he owned and operated the Rock Solid Music Store in Midland, with his daughter, Krista. Above all, he loved his family and was always willing to help and encourage those in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Tim is survived by his wife, Lisa Ortiz; children, Joshua Ortiz, Krista (Eric) McCowen, Andrew Ortiz, and Daniel Ortiz; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jonah; his mother, Amelia Crawford; siblings, Paul Ortiz, Lisa (Tim) Irwin, Arthur Ortiz, Tina (Pete) Lytch, Suzette (Dave) Munson, Jerald Crawford, and Melody (Joe) Schalk. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Crawford; siblings, James Ortiz, Daniel Ortiz, and Bryan Crawford.

A Celebration of Tim's Life will be held on Sunday, March 1 at 2:00 PM, at Lifehouse Body of Christ Church, 693 W. Isabella Rd., Midland, MI 48640.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to American Hospice care, and thank you to Kristen and Kevin for making their journey bearable and helping them navigate through a difficult time, and also to Jeff for his assistance.

Memorial donations can be made to the Ortiz family, in honor of Tim.
