Timothy Justin Riesel, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2023. Timmy, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on March 20, 1981 to Norma (Reel) Riesel and the late Timothy W. Riesel in Herkimer, NY. The day he was born was the most joyous moment in his parents and sisters' lives. The only boy, the youngest child.
He was raised in Cold Brook, NY and was a graduate of Poland Central School Class of 1999. His happiest moments are when he had a basketball in his hand and became one of the top scorers for his team at Poland Central School. Always a team player and always humble.
As a young boy, Timmy loved to go to church with his mother and would go fishing with his father any chance he could get. He did various jobs over the years and would help friends and loved ones when needed.
Timmy was a quiet, kind- hearted man. He was the light in his father's eyes and the song in his mother's heart. He will be sadly missed by everyone who loved and cherished him.
Timothy is survived by his mother Norma; three sisters, L'Annette Blum and her husband Mark of Ilion, Lisa Houle and her husband Paul of Apalachin, Leslie Stone of Canastota; his nieces and nephews, Katie (Anthony), Hannah, Kristina, Shelby, Jimmy, Katie, Kayla (Justin), Rebecca and Mark and his great-nieces and nephews, George, Benjamin, Harper, Odin and Olivia; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Ruth Reel, Richard Riesel and Marjorie Riesel.
Calling hours for Timothy will take place on Wednesday, June 14th from 4:00pm until 6pm at Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street in Herkimer. A funeral service will follow immediately after in the funeral home at 6:00pm. Interment will be in Middleville Cemetery in Middleville on Thursday, June 15th at 10:00am.
