Timothy Sherman Obituary Timothy J. Sherman, 44, Howard, SD passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Avera McKennan Hospital & University Center in Sioux Falls surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Beach United Methodist Church, 205 N Pleasant St; Howard, SD. The service will be livestreamed on the church's facebook page. Visitation with family present will be held on Saturday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the church with a time of sharing at 6:00 pm.
Timothy John Sherman was born to Marcia and Randy Sherman on November 1, 1979 in Madison, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Beach United Methodist Church in Howard, SD where he remained a member. He attended Howard Elementary and Howard High School graduating in 1998. Following high school graduation, he attended Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Granite Falls, MN receiving a diploma in Fluid Power Technology. He worked in the wind turbine industry for over 22 years.
Tim loved the outdoors including camping, hunting, snowmobiling, and sharing those times with friends and family. He enjoyed hosting the annual trap shooting event before the opening of pheasant season for three generations of fellow hunting enthusiasts.
Tim showed an aptitude for mechanical reasoning from a very young age. He was always fixing something for someone and could be counted on to help whenever someone needed an extra helping hand. Tim served with the Howard Fire Department for 17 years.
He was loyal to family and friends and will be missed by them all. Grateful for sharing his life are his four daughters: Katie, Kacy, Kamryn, and Brooke Sherman of Howard; his parents, Randy and Marcia Sherman of Howard; grandfather John Sherman of Howard; sister Shauna Jacobs and her husband, Mitch, of Sioux Falls and their children Burken and Tenley Jacobs; sister Jenny Bruinsma and her husband, Travis, of Sioux Falls, and their children Brantley, Hattie and Wesson Bruinsma, many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leona and Roy Stangohr, JoAnn Sherman; uncle, Tom Sherman; and aunt, Amy West.
