Timothy Lee Smith, affectionately known as "Tim", was born on March 20, 1955, in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Tim's life journey came to a peaceful close on October 16, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.

Throughout his life, Tim was celebrated for his infectious sense of humor and fun-loving spirit. He had a remarkable ability to fill a room with laughter and to uplift those around him. His family was his greatest joy; he adored them deeply and cherished the moments they shared together. Tim was not only a devoted husband for 52 wonderful years to his beloved wife, Janie, whom he considered his first sweetheart from grade school, but also a loving father to Billy, Beckie, and Ben. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Vivienne, surrounding her with love and guidance.

Tim's hobbies centered around the great outdoors, where he cherished the time spent camping and fishing in his beloved West Virginia. Eagle Rock held a special place in his heart, serving as a backdrop for countless memories shared with his family. A sports fan, he could often be found cheering on his Cincinnati Bengals and following the thrills of NASCAR.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janie; his loving children, Billy, Beckie, and Ben; cherished granddaughter, Vivienne; and dear sister, Debbie Smith. Tim now joins his parents, Henry and Iona Smith, and his brother, Ron Smith, who preceded him in death.

Tim’s legacy will forever be cherished by those who knew him; his laughter, love, and spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed, yet lovingly remembered, as a remarkable man who brought joy and warmth to countless lives.

Following with his wishes, there will be no services held.

“Don’t let your heart be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be also.”
