Timothy David Taber, 60, passed away on July 26th, 2025 after an 11-year journey with prostate cancer, with his wife and son at his side in
Fremont, Wisconsin.
Tim was born on October 19th, 1964 in Waupaca, WI to Jerry and Janet Taber. As the third of four children, Tim spent his early years in the same family home his mother still calls hers. He shared a lively childhood filled with bike rides, fishing trips, and sibling pranks; memories that he carried with him his whole life. After graduating from Waupaca High School, Tim went on to continue his education at Fox Valley Technical College.
Tim met Jennifer in the most unexpected way: a memorable night at the Bridge Bar that turned into a love story full of grit, humor, and heart. Their relationship wasn't built on grand gestures, but on cafeteria visits and days spent on the water - finding thoughtful moments of connection. He proposed in front of the marina with a barking dog and no plan B, because once Tim set his mind to something, he followed through.
He was a thoughtful leader and a devoted provider. Whether he was managing operations or running his own business, the Shock Shop, Tim never forgot to ask about someone's weekend or their kid's baseball game. He believed that small kindnesses mattered more than any title or raise ever could.
Ultimately, his proudest achievement was his family. He and Jennifer built a life centered around intention and quality time with those who mattered most. From Sunday Jeep drives in the rain listening to Jimmy Buffett, to snowmobile trips with his buddies, to the quiet joy of lying in bed while Jenny and Evan giggled down the hallway. He filled his life with simple pleasures.
He once said he wanted to be remembered as a man of his word, someone who never gave up - and he was. Through cancer, through setbacks, through every hard-won moment, Tim showed up. He showed up with honesty, humor, and a full heart. He believed in balance: in letting go of the small stuff, in giving everything you could to the people you love, and in always keeping an eye on what really matters.
Even though the world of cancer is so often framed in metaphors of battle, Tim's passing was not him losing a war - it was a quiet, sacred kind of victory. He left this world wrapped in love, held by the hand of the woman he adored and the son who was his deepest pride. In the home they created with care and pride, he slipped away after a life lived fully, if far too briefly - a life marked not by struggle, but by devotion and connection.
Tim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jennifer; their son, Evan (and his partner, Brian); his mother Janet; two brothers, Mark(Cheryl) and Peter(Carrie), and a sister, Sarah(Bill)Vogt; three brothers-in-law, Jeff Thomson, Greg (Stacey) Thomson and Dan (Kathy) Thomson; Sister-in-law, Tammy Thomson and his father-in-law, Dave Thomson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Taber and his mother-in-law, Joan Wiberg
