Timothy "Hobie" Thompson, age 51, of Hwy 519, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at his residence.
Born October 19, 1971, in Morehead, he is the son of Mary Louise (Robbins) Thompson of Morehead and the late Bobby TD Thompson, who preceded him in death on October 17, 2021. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Rhonda Thompson.
In addition to his mother, Hobie is survived by his wife and life partner of 30 years, Beverly Stacy Thompson; two brothers, John Thompson of Frankfort and Matthew Thompson of Carter County; two sisters, Jennifer Ruckel of Vanceburg and Justina Thompson of Flemingsburg; several nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.
Hobie, his brothers and Dad co-founded Thompson Construction in 2000, a well-known company throughout the nation. He was a 1990 graduate of Rowan County High School and received his associate's degree from Morehead State University. Hobie enjoyed spending time with family, chasing waterfalls, hunting arrowheads, hiking, and kayaking. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Oscar Riley and Pastor Ben Furman officiating. Burial will follow in Masters Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Matthew Thompson, John "Chewy" Simmons, Dustin Thompson, Gavin Gibson, Dakota Beair, Owen Beair, and Koleton Thompson.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY.
