Timothy Alan Torbert, born on May 3, 1955, in Miami, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at his home, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and support that will be cherished by many.
Timothy was a remarkable individual, known for his readiness to assist anyone in need. His generous spirit and compassionate nature defined him as a man who always put others before himself. Throughout his life, he maintained a keen interest in technology and was highly engaged with social media; he found joy in connecting with others and often delighted in viewing their moments captured in photographs on Facebook.
An ardent history buff, Timothy had an unparalleled love for research, continually seeking to expand his knowledge and understanding of the past. He also loved to tell stories. Once he established a routine, he adhered to it wholeheartedly. Growing up, he was very involved in his church. Beyond his interests and various hobbies, Timothy was an unwavering supporter of his children and took pride in his role as a grandfather. He was recognized as a great man, consistently present for his children in ways that often-exceeded expectations. He embodied what it meant to be a great man and father and there will never be one greater.
Timothy is survived by his son, Isaac Torbert of Fredericksburg, VA; daughters, Alex Monk and her husband Leroy of Pryor, OK, and Bridget Shero and her husband Michael of Parker, CO; sister, Sherley Torbert-Teel of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Junior Monk, Owen Shero, and Corbyn Wadlow; and nephew, Brooks Teel, wife Shannon and 2 daughters of Vermont.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lisle Torbert and Vera (Sherley) Torbert.
Timothy Alan Torbert will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family but also for the heart and warmth he shared with everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. His life serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion, support, and devotion in our relationships. He will be greatly missed.
