He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Jamie Walker Whitley of the home; one daughter, Megan Branch (John) of Winton, NC; father, Donald Whitley of Suffolk, VA; three grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

21 years ago I met u my love and knew immediately we were soul mates and would be together forever! Our friendship, love and devotion to each other was like no other! Every minute of everyday we spent together was a joy and a blessing not many get to experience in life! Not a day went by where u didn´t tell & show me how much u loved and adored me. I now know what true love really means because u showed me everyday for 21 awesome years! What an amazing husband, father and grandfather you have been! Wait for me where they keep the animals in Heaven because that´s where we both decided to meet!! Thank u for such a wonderful life. I will miss you every second of the day until we meet again!
