Timothy Dwayne Whitlock

Timothy Dwayne Whitlock, 64, husband to his devoted wife, Betty Shelton Whitlock of 46 years. He passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Born and raised in Greenville, S.C., he was the son of the late John Henry Whitlock and Elizabeth Manley Whitlock.

After earning his master's degree at Greenville Technical College, he became a dedicated master setup machinist at T & S Brass and Bronze Works, Inc. He was known for his hardworking spirit and unwavering commitment to his family.

In his downtime, Tim found peace in cutting his lawn, teaching, and practicing his auto mechanical skills and doing things right the first time. His passion for Nascar reflected his adventurous spirit and love for thrilling experiences.

Tim will be remembered for his big heart, as well as his love of animals, especially the 11 dogs that he shared his home and brought him endless joy. And his well-known saying "Do you really want to know?"

Tim was the proud father of two sons, Timothy Henry Whitlock and Jason Dwayne Whitlock (Crystal). A devoted grandfather to four grandchildren, Autumn, Riley, Mckenzie, and Kinsley. Also survived by his devoted brother, Randy Whitlock (Rhonda). He was preceded in death by brother, James "Smiley" Whitlock (April). Other siblings he is survived by are Barbara Davis, Keith Blakely, Cheryl Goza, and John Whitlock; mother-in-law, Lucille Bowen (late Henry Shelton) ; sisters-in-law, Shirley Fortin (Peter) and Lisa Bowen; brother-in-law, Robert Shelton (Joyce); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friends, Joyce Satterfield and Linda Ramirez.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest Chapel, burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home.
