Timothy D. Winkel, age 63, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Friday, May 9, 2025 in Newell.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of New Beginnings in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery. Visitation will take place Friday, May 16, 2025 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Timothy Dean Winkel was born November 11, 1961 to Donald and Frances (Coates) Winkel in Storm Lake, Iowa. He grew up attending school in Newell, Iowa.
On July 19, 2014, Tim was united in marriage to Ana in Storm Lake. He welcomed Ana's two children: Claudia and Efrain.
Tim was an active member of the Church of New Beginnings Assembly of God. In his free time, he loved gardening and collecting John Deere toy tractors. He was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Tim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tim is survived by his wife: Ana Winkel of Storm Lake, Iowa; mother: Frances Winkel of Newell, Iowa; children: Claudia Mendez; Efrain (Cynthia) Mendez; brothers: Mike (Melissa) Winkel; James (Rhonda) Winkel; grandchildren: Abel and Ivan, Mendez; David and Ellie Mendez; sisters-in-law: Margarita, Beatrice, Maria, Mirna, Ana Bell; brothers-in-law: Jaime and Edwin; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Don Winkel, and brother, Daniel Winkel.
