Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center on Dec. 4, 2025.
Timur Yury Ruban, the beloved husband of Zina (Geller) Ruban, passed away at home on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the age of 53 years old. Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, he was the son of Yury Ruban and the late Slavyana (Katz) Ruban. In 1989, at the age of 17, his family emigrated from Ukraine to Italy for less than a year prior to settling permanently in the United States.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy and Criminal Justice as well as his Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Hartford. In 1995, Timur married Zina, and together they built a life in Farmington with three daughters and numerous pets. A true visionary, Timur founded Evogence in Rocky Hill in 1992, an experiential technology company that has been dedicated to advancing the infrastructure and impact of digital signage to improve customer experiences across industries.
Timur was an avid reader with a passion for ideas, often engaging in conversations about science fiction and artificial intelligence long before they became mainstream. He was deeply creative, he loved playing the piano, composing music, and finding joy in artistic expression through live performances. A strong tennis player, he loved teaching others the game, and for him, golf was more than a sport; it was a way to connect with nature and enjoy the peaceful ambience of the outdoors with others.
He had an adventurous spirit, as he loved to travel, explore new restaurants and culinary experiences, as well as try out new activities. Always eager to include friends in these endeavors, Timur viewed his friendships as an extension of his family and was always there for them in times of need. Charismatic, kind, funny, and truly the light in the room, he inspired those around him. Above all, he was devoted to his family, who were the center of his world.
In addition to his wife Zina and father Yury, both of Farmington, Connecticut, Timur leaves his three daughters: Gabrielle, Isabelle, and Alisa.
His family will receive friends on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road,
Avon, Connecticut 06001. The funeral Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. The burial will be in the Simsbury Cemetery at 16 Plank Hill Road, Simsbury, Connecticut. Donations may be made to the Glioblastoma Research Organization.
