Tina Maria Wilson-Williams was born on Friday, December 23, 1960 to Henrietta Wilson and the late Donald E. Wilson, Sr. in Elkton, Maryland. She went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2023, peacefully surrounded by family at her home.
Tina was raised in Middletown, Delaware, where she graduated from Middletown High and also received her Cosmetology certification from Paul J. Hodgson Vocational Technical High School in 1979.
Tina was a lifelong member of Trinity A.M.E. Church, where she was a part of the Junior Echos and Women's Day Choirs and a member of the YPD group. She was also a member of the Wilmington-Chester Mass Choir, where she sang soprano under the directorship of the late Rev. Ernest Davis, Jr.
On December 15, 1981, Tina welcomed her wonderful baby boy, Ira Lamar, into the world. She later married her husband and love of her life, Julius, affectionately known as "Ju." on June 17, 1989. They, then, welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Sheena Reneé, into their union, on May 10, 1990.
Tina loved spending time with her friends and family, and especially being around her grandchildren. She loved to dance, sing and crack a few jokes. She enjoyed her trips out of town with her family, but she especially enjoyed her Cowtown trips and day trips with her Ride-or-Die and Partner-in-Crime, Shawnzetta Suggs.
Tina was a loving wife, mother, proud grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Tina was affectionately known as "Mom" to many of the neighborhood kids because of how loving, kind and down-to-earth she was.
Tina was preceded in death by her Father, Donald E. Wilson, Sr.; mother-in-law, Phyllis Reed; brothe- in-law, Darrell Williams; sisters/cousins and best friends, Shawnzetta Suggs and Deborah Walker.
She has been welcomed into Heaven with open arms by a host of family members and friends, but here on Earth, she will always be remembered as a beautiful soul with a bright smile and an amazing sense of humor.
Loving memories of her will be cherished by her husband, Julius Williams; son, Ira Wilson; daughter, Sheena Williams; mother, Henrietta Wilson; sister, Karen Brathwaite (Rogelio, Sr.); brothers, Donald E. Wilson, Jr. (Eunicseia Johnson), Dwayne Wilson (Vesteria) and Darryl Wilson, Sr. (Wanda); grandchildren, Airyana, Elias, N'Kyra, Sahri, Isaac, Alaina, Jayahni, Jasiah, Skylar and Jahcere; father-in-law, Harvey Cale (Joyce); sisters-in-law, Angela Williams, Susie Bleen, Cheryl Richardson (James), Rhonda Pearson and Theresa Butler; godchildren, LaToya Meadows (Nelson), Kevin Rodgers, Jr., William "Davel" Lotharp, and Régine Suggs; best friends, Jesse Samuels, Sandra Grinnage and Vida Queen; devoted brothers & cousins, John Jordan, Reginald Suggs and Calvin Suggs; devoted sister and cousin, Una Newman Walker; nieces, nephews and cousins that were more like her children, J'ne Brathwaite, Kenya Akins (Julian), Erik Fields, Gary Earl, Jr. and Nathan Queen (Katryna); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
