Graveside services for Mr. William "Bubba" Howell Joyce, age 74, will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5 PM until 8 PM in the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Joyce, a farmer, avid horse rider and trainer who participated in flag, barrel and pole racing with his favorite horse China, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Howard and Willie Joyce; three sisters, Dean Cole, Maxine Edwards and Jo Ann Barksdale; two brothers, James Joyce and Walton Joyce; and two nieces, Carol Griffin and Pam Joyce.
Mr. Joyce is survived by his wife, Debbie Taylor Joyce; four nieces, Linda Sampson, Robin Lindsey, Sherry Barksdale and Deborah Peterson; two nephews, Kenny Joyce and Richard Barber; and a daughter he never had, Brittney Clinton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
