Todd A. Bert, 66, passed away on June 21, 2025. Todd was born on September 11, 1958, in Mishawaka, IN to Richard and Virginia (Carey) Bert.
Todd is survived by his wife, Krista and his son, Adam; brothers, Carey (Lillian) Bert, Scott Bert, and Lance Bert. Three nieces and one nephew and their families. He is also survived by some of the greatest friends he could have ever asked for. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Bert and Virginia (Carey) Bert, along with his mother and father-in-law, Cy and Mary Lee Speybroeck and brother-in-law, Keith Speybroeck.
Todd and Krista were married on April 15th, 1989. It only took him 25 out of 36 years to be able to tell you how long he'd been married, and that made her love him even more. As a father and friend, he could not have been prouder or loved his son more. Todd and Adam shared a mutual love for music and fishing. Although Adam didn't have the same appreciation for Bluegrass as Todd did, there were many other kinds of music they enjoyed sharing. Todd enjoyed fishing all his life but never as much as when he went with Adam. The bond they shared was quite special.
Two of Todd's favorite things to do were going to Bear Lake and playing softball with his friends. Many people were introduced to Bear Lake by Todd, and all of them fell in love with its charm.
Todd worked for the School City of Mishawaka. His favorite thing about working there were his coworkers and the kids. Todd had a great personality for making kids feel important. He loved the look on their faces when he called them by name.
Todd was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. Although he had no use for the Chicago Cubs, he did have many friends who were Cubs fans. He always did have a soft spot for the delusional. Go Cards!
In lieu of flowers please make donations to, Todd Bert's Go Fund Me Page, or directly to Hahn Funeral Home.
There will be a visitation on Friday, June 27th in Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, from 4-7 p.m. that will conclude with a time for those who would like to share stories or just talk.

I was fortunate enough to get to know Mr. Bert during my first few years at Battell. He always had so many kind things to say. He never failed to offer a hello and ask how I was doing when he came into my room. I wish I had the chance to know him longer. Him and his family are in my thoughts.

Mr.bert was the custodian at twin branch the entire time i went there and he was truly one of my best friends and one of the only adults in the whole building who cared and had faith in me. He never failed to say hello with a big smile or help me throw my trash away and was never to busy to have a simple conversation with me, he made me feel so important always and never let me stay sad. i am so heartbroken to hear about his passing but so very greatful that i had the honor to know him and to have him care about me. I will always love you mr. bert the best custodian and one of my biggest inspirations.
