Todd M. Johnston

Canandaigua – Todd M. Johnston, age 56, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, on Friday, March 6, 2026, after a 2-year battle with ALS. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janet Johnston; three children, Nicholas (Kate) Chappell, Mackenzie (Alyssa) Johnston and Karryn Johnston (Justin Delong); six grandchildren, Addy and Nora Rossi, Carter and Cole Chappell, Roselynn Johnston and Daphne Delong; three siblings, Scott (Terri) Johnston, Casey Johnston and Morgan Johnston-Way; uncle, John (Patty) Johnston; aunt, Patricia Crouse; dear friends, Bridgett and Darrell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Todd was born in Watertown and was the son of James and Karen (Marshall) Johnston. He lived in many places throughout the years before settling in Canandaigua where he met his soulmate, Janet. They married in 1994 and later started their family. Todd was a painter for many years with his own business, Todd Johnston Painting & More. He loved his job and was good at it. He will be missed by all who knew him.
