Todd Lemley Obituary
October 27, 1956 - May 27, 2024
Versailles, Kentucky - Todd Saffell Lemley, 67, of Versailles, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, in Versailles. Born Oct. 27, 1956, in Lexington to the late Wayne and Frankie Smith Lemley, Todd was a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a master's degree in library science and a bachelor's degree in social work. He was a retired librarian for Lexington Public Library. He is survived by his wife Alice Yates, with whom he celebrated 40 years of marriage on May 26. He is also survived by a brother, Wayne C. Lemley; niece, Elizabeth Lemley; and nephew, Andrew Lemley, all of Vail, Colorado; along with several cousins, countless friends and extended family members. Todd was a lifelong learner, avid reader, enjoyed cycling through the beauty of the Bluegrass as well as his volunteer work at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. His kindness extended to everyone he met, including the many animals he cared for and loved. Memorial contributions are suggested to Woodford Humane Society. A 2-3pm visitation will be held Sunday, June 2, followed by a 3:00pm Memorial service at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Rd. There will also be a visitation from 3-5pm Saturday at the funeral home.

I worked with Todd at the library for many years, and always enjoyed talking with him, especially with us both being from Versailles. I'll always remember his gentle and friendly demeanor, and am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Todd never forgot a friend and he was always smiling. I remember him riding his bike beside us when we were riding our horses on the trails at Shakertown. We will surely miss this special friend

I am really sorry to hear of Todd's death. I know him from the YMCA and he was always very friendly to talk to and had nice sense of humor we both enjoyed. I will miss him.
