Todd Alan Nowak

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Todd Alan Nowak, age 58.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Todd moved to Gaylord with his family at the age of 14. He was a superior athlete his entire life. After graduating from Gaylord High School, Todd went on to play football at Central Michigan University. Following college Todd would return to his hometown of Gaylord where he started his own business as a painter and spent most of his down time with friends and his brother Thad.

He was truly the life of the party-quick-witted, protective of those he loved, and someone who never met a stranger. He had countless friends, many of whom became family, and his presence brought laughter and warmth wherever he went.

Though his life was cut far too short, his final years were among his happiest, shared with the love of his life, Anna Tomaski, and her daughters, Ava and Alexa, who meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean (Gulden) Nowak his father, Robert Nowak; his brother, Michael Nowak; and his sister, Marcella Nowak.

He is survived by his brother, Thaddeus T. Nowak (Carolyn Monaco), along with aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends who are considered extended family.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his humor, loyalty, and the fierce love he showed to those closest to him. We will carry his memory in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life for Todd will be held on Saturday February 28th, 2026, at The Pine Squirrel Bar & Grill, 1600 S. Otsego, Gaylord, Michigan 49735. A time for sharing and celebrating will begin at 1:00 pm.
