Todd Ray Sheldon

Todd Ray Sheldon was born on February 21, 1961, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Wallace Sheldon and Margaret Sheldon.

Todd had a deep love for life and the people in it. He was an avid golfer, often found on his neighborhood course, Jonathan's Landing, where he participated in the gaggle, leagues, and tournaments. A devoted fan of both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies, Todd also enjoyed fishing and camping - especially with his beloved nieces and nephew, cherishing the memories made as they grew up.

While Todd's heart belonged to his wife, his unwavering dedication and loyalty extended to his professional life. He devoted 43 years to Berry Van Lines, beginning as a warehouse worker and rising to Vice President of Operations. His leadership, work ethic, and commitment played a vital role in the company's success and earned the respect of everyone who worked alongside him.

A man of quiet faith, Todd attended Holy Cross Church with his wife for the past 20 years and was recently confirmed in his faith.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Wallace, and his brother, Dallas. He is survived by his loving mother, Margaret, whom he called every day to check on; his beloved wife and soulmate, Pamela Sheldon- his college friend, with whom he reunited and married in 2007 after reconnecting years later; and his younger sister, Alexis Brower, her husband Dave, and their three children: Avery and his wife Brandi, Morgan and her husband Brandon, and Emma, all of Ellendale.

He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jesse and Anne Whitaker, and their two children, Lily and Westly, as well as Gregory Whitaker and his wife Alexis, and their two children, Levi and Elsie. Todd was lovingly known as "Pop-pop" to his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and were so dearly loved by him.

A Catholic funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover, Delaware, on Monday, September 16th at 12:30 PM, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Todd will be remembered for his integrity, humility, and kindness, and for the lasting impact he had on all who knew him.
