Thomas "Tom" Bowen of Calera, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on Wednesday, October 16, 1940 in Yuba, Oklahoma to Thelma Lanore (Sanders) and Thomas Leroy Bowen.
Tom was a longtime resident of Calera, Oklahoma. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He married Donna Kay (Mattingly) on September 2, 1966 in Calera, Oklahoma. He was also a member of the Dixie Squares, involved with the Achille FFA, an active 4-H leader, and a Deacon at Prairie View Church where he also taught Sunday school.
He enjoyed woodworking, basketball, and reading western books.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thelma Lanore (Sanders) and Thomas Leroy Bowen; sisters Ramona Cox, Jean Ridley, Quata Porter; and brother Durwood Bowen.
Survivors include his wife Donna Kay Bowen of the home; daughter Stefani Dawn Bowen and Grant Bennett of Garner, North Carolina; son Shawn Bowen of Calera, Oklahoma; sisters Deanie Citty of Hayworth, Oklahoma, Ruth Daniel and husband W.C. of Coleman, Oklahoma, Barbara Wells and husband Stephen of Durant, Oklahoma; brother Randell Bowen of Calera, Oklahoma; grandchildren Haley Sohasky and husband Josiah, Lexie Bennett, Joshua Bennett, Tori Bennett, Harly Smith; great grandchild Virginia Kate Sohasky as well as other extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Prairie View Church in Achille, Oklahoma with Bro. Jim Parrish officiating. The family would like to give special thanks to Centric Hospice for the care they provided.
