Tom Caudel

Tom Caudel, age 75, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Shirley Milwee Caudel; two children, Rachel Tomara Caudel & husband Jeremy Arnold of Louisville, KY, Jolene Rice of London, KY; two siblings, Carol Williams of Winchester, KY, Linda Barker & husband Mike of Phoenix, AZ; plus a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends to cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Litrel Caudel & Laveda Wells Caudel.

Tom was a devoted husband, loving father, and faithful servant to his community.

Tom spent his career as a civil engineer, working for Elmo Greer & Sons for 45 years, where his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic were evident to all who knew him. He later continued his professional journey with 7 Earth Movers, remaining committed to excellence in his field.

Beyond his career, Tom was deeply invested in serving others. He was a current member of the East Bernstadt School Board, where he worked tirelessly to support local education and students. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Jesus & Izzy Ministries and volunteered on special projects with Cumberland Valley Domestic Violence Services, giving generously of his time and talents to help those in need.

Tom was a man of faith, a member of the Presbyterian church since childhood, and he lived out his beliefs through service, kindness, and quiet leadership.

In his personal life, Tom found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan, loved to fish, and treasured time spent with his family. Above all else, Tom was known as the best husband and father ever, a title he earned through unwavering love, support, and devotion to his family.

Tom's legacy is one of hard work, faith, service, and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives he touched throughout his life.

A funeral service honoring Tom Caudel will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Samuel Milwee officiating. Interment will follow at A. R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Jesus and Izzy Ministries or to the Cumberland Valley Domestic Violence Service. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
