Tom Flowers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ellis Funeral Home - Muleshoe on Jan. 20, 2026.
Tom Flowers, a longtime resident of Muleshoe, Texas, finished his final supervisory duties on January 18, 2026, at the age of eighty-five.

Tommy William Flowers was born on May 16, 1940, in Levelland, Texas, to Jessie Lorene Faulkner and Johnnie A Flowers. Tom married Joella Sue McCraw in 1964 in New Mexico and over the next several years were blessed with three wonderful children: William Perry, Brenda Lanea, and Tommy Glen. A life-long entrepreneur, Tom started and grew several businesses over his career. Several examples: Tom's Distributor, Farm Machinery Auctioneering as the Blooming Auctioneer, operating a farm machinery sales lot, raised some cattle, did some dry-land farming & even a few seasons custom combining. Tom finished with a 30-year run at publishing the Auction Insight Report and executive trainer with the Auction Insight Appraisal School.

Tom had many interests in work and play. He was a founding member of the Tractor Traders Association and a member of the National Auctioneers Association. He then spent a ton of time, and paid a lot of entry fees, with the Bailey Co 4-H program and 6 County Horse Association. And no one will forget the over 40 years of the Flowers Fireworks Stands. At first, a small project to keep the kids busy in the summer, then it became a business with two stands on each end of town. However, Tom only added an A/C unit when the grandkids started working. For vacations, Tom served as Captain of the Tub at Ute Lake and also served as the lead water ski instructor which was curious as he didn't swim.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents: Johnnie A Flowers and Jessie Proctor, and siblings: Marie Flowers, J.M. Flowers, and Betty Espinosa.

Carrying on Tom's legacy, his loving wife for almost 62 years, Joella, children: Perry Flowers (Michelle) of New Braunfels, Brenda Reese (Jeff) of Lubbock, and Glen Flowers (Ginger) of Canyon, grandchildren: Justin Reese, Brittany Flores (Ryan), Madison Droddy (Easton), Branson Reese, Grady Flowers (Bethany), Grant Flowers (Baxter), and Grayson Flowers, and great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Kasen, Hayes, Emery, Navy, and EJ. Also many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great nephews.
