Thomas Anthony Lodder, lovingly known as "Tom," passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on October 27, 1951, in Marceline, Missouri, Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and respected member of his community.
A lifelong resident of Marceline, Tom graduated from Marceline High School in 1969. His dedication to education led him to serve as the Bus Superintendent for Marceline High School, where he worked from 1973 until his passing. He was more than an employee-he was a beloved mentor and friend to countless students and colleagues, earning the affectionate nickname "Tom Cat" from the kids at school.
Tom had a strong work ethic and took great pride in maintaining the school grounds. Outside of work, he spent many years working on the Ewigman and Hustead farms, where he formed a lifelong friendship with Clint Hustead, who was like a brother to him.
Tom cherished family traditions, especially celebrating the Fourth of July at the creek, hosting hayrides, and taking his grandkids and family on bus rides. He found joy in family vacations but always looked forward to returning home and working on his dozer. His love for buses extended beyond work-he was proud to drive Bus #7 and had a passion for collecting buses.
A man of deep faith, Tom was a devoted member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Marceline. He was also well-known for his exceptional dedication to his job, winning the Bus Inspection Award for ten consecutive years.
Tom married the love of his life, Vicki Neason, on April 22, 1972, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and strong family values. He is survived by his wife, Vicki; their three children, Tommy Lodder (JoDee), Frank Lodder (Brandi), and Rhonda Stallo (Bill); and grandchildren Erich Belzer (Laura), Blake Belzer (Sydnee), Morgan Belzer, Raegan Lodder, Kenny Lodder, Hudson Lodder, Kennadi Lodder, Gabby Lodder, Adry Lodder, Devon Skinner (Taylor), and Leah Stallo. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Riverlee Lodder, Georgia Skinner, Vienna Belzer, and a great-grandchild due in April.
Tom is also survived by his siblings, Barb Daller (Duane), Pat Terrell, Rose Ewigman (Steve), Joe Lodder (Kari), Charlie Lodder (Lana), Donna Ewigman (Dan), and Margie Robinson (Mike), sister-in-law, Sam Jordan, brothers-in-law, Terry Neason (Kathleen) and Jim Jordan, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Anthony Lodder and Eva Regina Poss, in-laws Maurice and Georgia Neason, his brother Frank Lodder, grandson Anthony Stallo, great-grandson Grayson Skinner, brother-in-law Paul Terrell, niece Monica Robinson, and great-nephew Zach Cupp.
