Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford
Mr. Tom Lofton, 56, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. A visitation will be held Monday, May 22, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home (601 Commerce Pkwy., Oxford, MS 38655). A family funeral service to celebrate Tom's life will be held at a later date. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Tom was born November 29, 1966, in Houston, MS. He was always a hard worker, and this led him to obtain his Associate's degree in Electronics from Northwest Mississippi Community College. His accomplishments led him to dedicating many years of his life to working for Solero Technologies, which was previously BorgWarner, and starting his own HVAC business in 2000, called Precision Maintenance. He put his all in everything that he did and this was the reason behind his successful and trustworthy reputation.
Away from work, Tom was such a fun-loving man who brought joy to those around him, no matter the circumstances. He was also known to be very headstrong and strong-minded when it comes to his family and beliefs. He also had an extremely loving and selfless personality. He had the tendency to always put the wellbeing of others before his own. Tom loved camping and being outdoors, as well as cooking/grilling for everyone. However, he loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He always spoiled his beloved wife, Tonya, taking her traveling and catering to her at every opportunity. Also, his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He truly loved his family, and he loved everyone just as they were. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Tonya Lofton of Oxford; his three daughters, Allie (Audie) Branch of Oxford, Brittany (Miles) Shirley of White Hall, AR, and Ginny Kate (Trent) Lofton of Oxford; his two sons, Adam (Anna) Lofton and Robbie (Peyton) Abbott, both of Oxford; six granddaughters, Ancel Branch of St. Louis, MO, Laurie Branch and Maecy Branch, both of Oxford, Addeline Shirley of White Hall, and Avery Grace Lofton and Lillian Lofton, both of Oxford; six grandsons, W.J. Hannaford of Oxford, Cooper Abbott and Jackson Shirley, both of White Hall, and Brayden Fryar, Charlie Branch, and Colton Lofton, all of Oxford; one brother, Frankie (Debbie) Lofton of Calhoun City, MS; and two nephews, Brandon (Erin) Lofton of Oxford, and Erick Lofton of Jackson, MS.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Jerald Q. Lofton and Joy Evans Lofton; and his sister, Sheila Gann.
